What's missing from 2014 (July)

In the beginning of July, Remo was invited to attend a conference in Cancun, Mexico. I didn't have to think twice when he proposed me to join him.
An amazing hotel on the Playa del Carmen
Ruins of The Mayan city Tulum situated on tall cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea (04/07/2014)

With a height of 42 meters, this pyramid in Coba is the tallest on the Yucatan peninsula. (05/07/2014)
Not only is it the tallest pyramid, it is apparently also the only one you can climb. With just a rope to help you, it is quite a steep climb and a rather scary looking descent.
But the pyramid litterally lifts you out of the jungle and lets you enjoy this amazing view.
Pyramid of Chichen Itza (06/07/2014)

city of Vallodolid
... where you can have a Mayan pancake!
You might wonder where the kids were... well, they were enjoying themselves at their grandparents' in Cesenatico!
When we took the kids back to Genoa, their little cousin Ginevra decided she wanted to come home with us. So she did! And we loved it!

What's missing of 2013 (August)

Camping trip to Montecatini Terme (Tuscany), early August 2013
where the swimming pool on the campsite was the kids' favourite place
My Belgian friend and her family were also in Tuscany
and their hotel also had a swimming pool ;-)
Checking out Montecatini Alto
On the way back to Genoa, we passed through Lucca, Puccini's city and hence Tosca's city. "Osteria Tosca" offers "Tosca's specials".
In August, another good friend arrived from Belgium. Together we enjoyed the beach of Cesenatico, but we also traveled to Padua and Venice.
The holy remains of Saint Gregorio Barbarigo inside the Cathedral of Padua (Duomo di Padova).
Basilica di Sant'Antonio da Padova

Souvenir stalls in front of the Basilica
Botanical Gardens of Padua
Venice!

More Venice!

Day trip with the kids to Gradara Castle
Cousins

After a visit to a castle, how can you go on without an armour?!
Obviously, that goes for girls as well ;-)
